5 TIPS PARA CUIDAR TUS BIKINIS Y QUE DUREN MÁS TIEMPO

5 TIPS TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BIKINIS AND LAST LONGER

Believe it or not, bikinis are very delicate garments And if you want them to last more than one season, you need to take care of them and treat them as it should. We invest a lot of time looking for a bikini that fits us well, adjusts to trends, is comfortable and the fabrics have quality, so today we bring you some recommendations so that that invested time is not wasted.
The sun, the sea water, the sand, the chlorine from the swimming pool, the rough curbs ...etc are factors that we cannot avoid in summer and the main culprits that they break down For this reason, many times at the end of summer we see that our bikini no longer has the same color or the fabric is damaged somewhere (usually the back). There are some recommendations that we can follow to prevent this from happening. We will reveal them to you!

WASH BY HAND AND COLD WATER

The first recommendation is that wash your bikinis by hand and always avoid using the washing machine (and of course the dryer, which may shrink them) and of course never use bleach. For this, you have to use cold water and soap .
Many times the sun leaves them a bit stiff , in this case you can use a bit of softener when you finish washing them and then run them under cold water again. Hot water is not recommended because lycra is a very delicate fabric and being in high temperatures is more easily damaged.

Mainly the chlorine is your bikini's worst enemy and for this reason, even if you have only taken a dip in the pool, it is rinse them in a basin with cold water so that it releases all the substance and does not lose its elasticity. In addition, many times they also have traces of creams and sunscreens that damage the fabric.

DO NOT TWIST OR WRITE IT

Normally, when the bikini (or swimsuit) is wet, we wring it out and this gesture is a huge mistake. To remove excess water from the bikini, it is best to fold it and with your hands squeeze it but never twist it. Remember that You should never use the dryer or iron.

As you well know, lycra is an elastic fabric and when twisted it will weaken, lose elasticity and its resistance. A bikini without elasticity is no longer useful and must be thrown away.

ALWAYS DRY THEM IN THE SHADE

One of the most common mistakes is to hang clothes in the sun so they dry faster. In the case of bikinis (or swimsuits) it is a serious mistake. It is most recommended that leave your bikinis in the air to dry and if it is under the shade much better . Remember hang them upside down and avoid using pliers to hold them.
This step is done mainly so that it does not lose its color since with the sun little by little it will go away and at the end of the summer your bikini will have a lighter and uglier color. In addition, your gums will fall apart and even lose elasticity.

TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE HUMIDITY AND WHERE YOU STORE IT

When we go to the beach or the pool, we always take a spare bikini to change it when we want to be dry but What do we do with the wet bikini? Normally we put it in plastic bags and this is a huge mistake because it overheats and the wear process is accelerated.
We recommend that for bikinis that are wet, the wrap yourself in a towel but if you don't have one handy you can use one net bag .

STORE THEM CORRECTLY IN THE DRAWER

This is probably the most important step and the one you should pay the most attention to. It is recommended wash them (even if the bikini is already clean) before storing them in the drawer until next summer. you can use the washing machine whenever it is a program for delicate clothes.
When completely dry, we fold it very carefully in a cloth bag (your own packaging) to protect them from humidity, dust and other factors. It will be perfect for the following summer!
